Terms & Conditions

Last updated: July 30, 2026

These terms govern your use of CanICarryIt.com ("the site"). By using the site you accept them. If you do not agree, the remedy is simple: stop using the site.

1. What this site is — and is not

CanICarryIt.com is an independent, informational reference that summarizes publicly available baggage and security rules published by authorities such as the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA), the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and individual airlines. The site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any government body, airport, or airline. Nothing on this site is legal advice, and no content here creates any professional relationship.

2. Rules change, and officers decide

Baggage and security rules change frequently and sometimes without public notice. Even when an item is generally permitted, screening officers retain full discretion to prohibit it — for example if it triggers an alarm, appears tampered with, or raises other security concerns. Airlines may impose stricter limits than security authorities, and foreign customs and import laws are entirely separate from what passes a security checkpoint. Each page displays a "last verified" date; that date describes when we last checked our sources, not a guarantee that a rule is current on the day you travel.

3. Your responsibility

For anything that matters — medication, valuables, instruments, items you cannot afford to lose or surrender — you are responsible for confirming current rules directly with your airline and the relevant screening authority before you travel. You use the information on this site at your own risk.

4. Calculators and tools

Our calculators (battery watt-hours, liquids, alcohol rules, pack checklist) apply published rules to numbers you enter. They do not know your device, your fare, or your destination. Outputs are informational estimates, and real outcomes depend on factors only you and your airline can confirm.

5. No warranties; limitation of liability

The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site — including, without limitation, confiscated items, missed flights, baggage fees, fines, or losses of any kind.

6. Third-party links

The site links to official authority and airline pages for verification. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability, or policies.

7. Intellectual property

The site's text, design, and data compilations are our original work. You may share links and quote brief excerpts with attribution; you may not scrape, republish, or mirror the site's content or dataset wholesale without written permission. Government regulations themselves remain public documents of their respective issuers.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to abuse the site: no automated bulk scraping, no attempts to disrupt availability, and no misrepresentation of our content as official government communication.

9. Changes

We may update these terms; the date above reflects the current version. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.

10. Contact
